Improper policies and procedures can stifle a company’s progress. Some of them are too constraining on workers and can cause some to lose their creative spark. These result in exhausted, unchallenged, even resentful employees who may not work at their optimal level. It’s best for businesses to seek input from many employees as soon as it comes to creating policies and processes which will do the job. A retail firm could have an employee who’d really like to run with a decision to offer you a reduction to a long-time customer. Company policy dictates that the choice should come from the worker’s manager. The manager might be fresh and don’t have any idea of the individual’s standing as a valued client.
Additionally, this director hasn’t had no personal relationship with the client to want giving an incentive . The outcome is a customer under-appreciated and a unsatisfied worker who has no decisional autonomy in their job. A policy and process prevented the firm’s capability to expand goodwill into a client helping to keep the business in business. Ineffective policies and procedures have a widespread impact on an organization as a whole. When applied across sections that interact with one another they could create conflict. For organizational health, there has to be a collaborative team approach to reaching company goals. This team approach needs to focus on a common goal, the gaining, and keeping of customers. Any procedure or policy that prevents them from doing this is really a counter-productive one which needs modification.
