Company policy dictates that the choice must come from the worker’s manager. The supervisor might be new and don’t have any concept of this individual’s status as a valued client.
Policies and procedures shouldn’t exist as parameters which prevent workers from giving customers the amount of service that they desire. Policies and procedures shouldn’t be an end unto themselves where a provider believes adherence to them more significant than consumer needs. A customer met is a client who knows a company has fulfilled their guarantees. When policies and procedures promote creativity, outside-the-box believing, along with a collaborative atmosphere then a company produces more and much better product. If it’s in the service industry, the service it sells will probably be superior to its competitors because its workers are firing on all cylinders and material. In the long run, the company, its employees and the client wins.
